    UK flightplans

Where on earth have the UK flightplans gone?

    Thanks

    Re: UK flightplans

I appreciate Uk flightplans were previously sporadic at best but as Pilotman said "where indeed have all the UK flightplans gone?" The coverage of main and smaller airports has dwindled to next to nothing (even transatlantic flights) - has the source been cut??

    Re: UK flightplans

I emailed flightwise a few weeks ago and they said the gateway from the FAA had changed and as a result changed the gateway for the UK based flightplans or something. As a result you can only see American traffic. They said they were trying to work around the problem but they didn't think they'll be a solution for it. It looks like the UK flightplans have gone for good but I hope I'm wrong. It would be nice to know if there is any more information as the email I received was a few weeks ago.

    Re: UK flightplans

Just raising this issue once more - there is a Stateside competitor site that retains (some) European data/plans. Are they paying for that privilege or have exclusive rights??
Will we see the return of that data here?

    Re: UK flightplans

We hope to have an announcement about that in the next few weeks, so hang in there :) Radar data from the UK and Europe is still restricted at the present time, so no one is currently publicly displaying radar-based data...

Any news on the announcement? FlyteComm still show limited UK flights.

    Re: UK flightplans

Any updates?  One of the primary reasons why I use flightwise.

    Re: UK flightplans

I don't think we are being told the truth here. Flightaware.com are still showing aircraft flying between the US and Europe, so what's the big problem with Flightwise?

    Re: UK flightplans

Honestly, there's no conspiracy going on :) We get our flight tracking data from the FAA - that data is derived from ground-based radar stations. The UK aviation authorities have restricted any of that data that comes from the London ground radar facilities, so we're not allowed to show it. I'm not sure where other flight tracking companies get their data.

I will say that we have some announcements that will be forthcoming within the next few months that might make you a bit happier, though :)

    Re: UK flightplans

    Thanks for your reply.

I have been told that it is possible to receive UK data on flightwise if you prove that you are involved in an aviation related business, is this correct?

    Any news?

    Re: UK flightplans

Is there any update for this?

Noticing now I can't access ANY info, regardless if it's in LLON center. Just automatically blocks the flight even before departure. Disappointing and might cancel my service after 4+ years of using it.

    Re: UK flightplans

    hi all

just a quick observation i am paying for a subscription, when i try to look up a flight on the flight trcker it says its in UK airspace and cannot show it but a friend of mine that lives just down the road from me just uses the free part when he tracks the same flight it shows up everything with no problems you can even track it in google earth. So how come i cant get anything even though i pay and he gets it for nothing??????

seems a bit odd if you ask me
