I think you're off to a good start, but not quite working as expected yet. When I load the file in GE and click play, the last frame where it stops has no aircraft. If I click the + button to minimize the interval, and then click the arrow to go back one frame, they're all there. Additionally, I tried setting up a Network Link in GE to your KMZ and a 2-minute interval. After some time, 2-5 minutes, the player widget sometimes shows it can advance, other times it remains stuck at whatever the last frame was when I first loaded it, so it cannot advance into the new data, and in either case it doesn't advance automatically.

While I realize the data is on a delay, I'd like it to update automatically and reposition all the aircraft to the latest position (delayed) that you can publish, along with tracks for the last hour (more than that and it becomes a crazy spider web).

MarineTraffic.com does what I describe very well, so I'm sure it's possible.

To take it a step further, GE may provide information in the request to you about the current view, by which you could filter the returned data for a smaller resultset, both by the view area and the altitude (if camera is above some height, filter out low-flying aircraft, for example). Also, if you return the resultset as a Network Link folder, you can specify the refresh time at your end to control the load a bit.

Another suggestion: Instead of a single Network Link resultset folder, return a batch of folders, perhaps breaking up the results by airline, or by airport (origin/destination). You could even produce a nested set of folders, so the users can turn off parts of the results, which would serve to both allow the user to customize what they see, as well as lower the load on your end since deactivated folders don't auto-refresh. Below are two examples you could offer separately for users to choose from. In either case, results could be limited to the region in view and/or altitude:

Search for flights with a PrimaryPhoto

Is there a way to search only for flights that have a photo? My application requires photo information on as many active flights as possible and I'm finding that very few actually have images associated with them, so rather than sorting through the data on my end it would be great if I could format a search to do the same.

FlightsNear does not return any flight details

I have a flight that has taken off from one of Google Earth 3d's airports that I need to track and it is still showing its passage from its previous destination at which it landed yesterday. When will the tracker update to the flight that is currently in progress? Thank you!

"Unrecognized Airport" in Flight History

I was looking into traffic to and from airport MDCY in the flight history page. However, when I entered this airport code into the "arriving" or "departing" fields, I get an "unrecognized airport" error message. Strangely though, when I type in flights which go into this airport (CJA984, SSV5006, CFG248) these flights show up as having this airport code as a departure or destination. What is going on here? Is the app only allowing searches on certain airport codes?

I get this message even when what I want to get is information on an old flight. Seems silly that I need to wait for the latest flight to be in the "coverage area" before I can have access to historical data for the flight!

Access to FBOWeb via Blackberry

Hi there - I noticed yesterday that I can not access FBOWeb any more from my blackberry. I get now to the page at http://www.fboweb.com but when I try to log in, nothing happens. Until last week, when browsing from the blackberry it used to forward to the old interface/site. Is there anything in the works or are you going to bring the old interface back?

I'm a Tracker Pro customer. I have just updated to the latest version.

I'm really disapointed now as the tracker does not show upcoming flights for airports anymore. It only shows the flights that have already landed, and those that have already departed. This makes the app useless for planespotting.

Is this normal behavior or just a temporary bug?

Fleetwatch Lists on homepage

Folks

having logged in and on the homepage, the fleet watch lists are a nice touch for a 'quick & dirty scan' but lack some detail for the types I am monitoring.

Could it be enhanced to at least show the date of flight, the only real clue at present seems to be a green bar/active indication. The timeout comment could be days old.

Accuracy of Flight History information

I'm wondering what anyone can say about the accuracy of the Flight History information.

For instance, go to Flight Tracking, Track Flights and enter 28647353. Then zoom in on DFW (the lower left end of the flight). The path is all crazy.

After digging a bit deeper, it appears two things are happening. First is that two different centers are reporting locations, and they are off by a noticeable amount. When put into a time series, it makes it look like the airplane is jumping around.

Second, if you look at the Track Log tab at the bottom, you can even see that center KDFS keeps reporting two locations for each timestamp.

So, there are two questions here, and a bigger question about whether issues like this are common problems. I plan to use the API to pull info like this in the future, but if I have to frequently confront data like this, I'd like to know now.

More Airports In Google Earth

Hi,

This is my first post so here it goes. I used to get the flightplan of a flight departing from London heading out to the US. Now i am getting this message"This flight is currently being tracked by London, UK radar facilities, and is restricted." before the flight has departed? Is there a problem. Beacause i was happyily able to get he flightplans before. I know i cant track the flight if it is airborne or has departed within UK airspace (LONDON TMA/EGTT FIR), but i am trying to get the flightplan BEFORE the flight departs. Like i always do. Its been happening for a few days now. I use the flightplans for my hobby. Flight simualtor. I like to fly using Real world precedures etc.

So any help guys.

Question on time format / Airport History

Hi chaps,

As a new user, it may be there is some way to handle these and I havent found it yet but here goes:-

1. Is there anyway to show times in 24 hour clock format so 1317 rather than for example 01.17pm?

2. In terms of history - is there a way to filter historic data so you can see for example all general aviation departures or arrivals for a date/date range (so far only found the ability to show first/last 10 depending on selection)

ANy help gratefully received!!

Timestamps in Alerts...

Can we get the timestamps to show correct time zones or maybe just show GMT in Alerts.

The enroute time is unreliable will sometimes show the ETA instead.

It would be nice to have a User Setting to select time zone for all of your Alerts.

Overall the Timestamps for arrival and departure in both Local and GMT and Dates takes up to much of the message.

I don't think we need the date since you cannot file a flight plan much more than 24 hours ahead anyways.

Search on entire operator

You used to be able to search on an entire operator by entering the wildcard % after the three letter code....this does not appear to work anymore...is there another way of finding out this info?

In fact I am trying to find out the routes that have been flown by the charter airline Canjet..code CJA but only for the aircraft type B738.
Is there a way of doing this?

I really like the services this website is offering, however, i have a problem. I am only 16 and want to get the Basic flight tracking package. However, there is a catch. I don't have a credit card yet. I however have a Solo Card. For those of you who don't know what this is it is a Debit card.

I really want to get this service, but at the moment, i can't pay for it! I have asked my parents, but they say that it is up to me!

I have a PayPal account, but i don't think you guys accept PayPal.

Sectional Charts with GoogleEarth 4

I've started using the new GoogleEarth 4 beta. When I try to use the sectional charts, they'll load up, then flicker whenever I zoom in or even move the mouse pointer. This makes them totally unusable. Is there any solution to this?

Problem Logging In

I have just had my laptop formatted and am unable to log into fboweb, I input my E-mail address and username which appears to be accepted but when I press enter another window appears but it is blank. I guess the problem is at my end but can anyone help.I have tried turning anti-virus of but that doesn't make any difference .Any help would be appreciated.I have attached the link that I have beeb using sucessfully for months without any problems up untill now.

Favoring a non-exsistent runway

Currently at BTL the winds 90 @ 7 currently favor runway 09. Well problem is runway 09 no longer exsist at BTL and hasnt for many many years....is there any way to correct this to show it favoring an actual used runway.
